Since 2016 Patrick Andersen is Managing Partner of Delaware Consulting, a company founded in Belgium, delivering advanced IT-services to companies on a global level. Despite his Danish roots, Patrick is, just like Jan van den Nieuwenhuijzen, a true Antwerpian, conveying his own visions and sense of innovation to the company.
Despite his love for IT-communication and revolutionary technologies, Patrick is also very fond on what he calls “the authenticity of being human”, a vision he also translates into his position as CEO.

Commodore 64

Patric started his career in the era of Commodore 64 in the 1980’s. Staggering technological changes have been made since then, to which Delaware has contributed as well. Computers are now many times faster, powerful and capable than human beings.  The CNC-technology for example, plays a vital role in the development of Conid Bulkfillers.  Nevertheless, Patrick argues that a computer has not succeeded to replace one very unique trait of humankind: authenticity.

Harmony between technology and tradition

As a passionate collector of fountain pens, Patrick succeeds in finding harmony between technology and tradition, also at Delaware. Every year, every single one of the almost 1000 employees at Delaware receives a personal note in which Patrick expresses his thanks, all written by hand. Although some people might think this is way too out-dated for a modern and progressive company, and Patrick admits not personally “knowing” all of his employees, he claims its about much more than just trying to be “the popular guy” among these people.

Time and effort

Writing with a fountain pen is about contemplating and reconsidering evey single word you put onto paper. It is about the time and effort you put into making your handwriting elegant, and the balance and cohesion in your sentences.
